OxBow Thanksgiving

As natives of the Connecticut River Valley Oxbow in Northampton, we feel familiar at our new neighborhood Tavern. What a special surprise to find that it was open on Thanksgiving. Since none of us is a fan of turkey, we relished our quail, duck and lamb chops at a cozy table on a frigid fall holiday this year. Perfect with a bottle of Willamette Valley Pinot.

UWS September 2018

Great news. Dovetail will become a trendy chef Adam Leonti of Philadelphia spot. A.G. Kitchen becomes Fish on the Fly with lobster rolls to go. Yo!!!! Le Petit Rooster, for wine and rotisserie chicken down a few blocks. So. With Milling Room & Oxbow. Things are looking up this Fall in the ‘hood!

Oxbow Tavern

New boîte on 71st & Columbus. Used to be Café Tallulah. Never went there. Always empty. Oxbow Tavern is crowded and lively with a beautiful zinc bar and tasteful if dark décor. Menu a bit heavy and wintry, doesn’t change for summer seasonal offerings. Yet the grilled quail was perfectly prepared and brussel sprouts excellent. Hangar steak good reviews. Bar is the draw. Positive news in the UWS ‘hood. No scaffolding, either!
