New boîte on 71st & Columbus. Used to be Café Tallulah. Never went there. Always empty. Oxbow Tavern is crowded and lively with a beautiful zinc bar and tasteful if dark décor. Menu a bit heavy and wintry, doesn’t change for summer seasonal offerings. Yet the grilled quail was perfectly prepared and brussel sprouts excellent. Hangar steak good reviews. Bar is the draw. Positive news in the UWS ‘hood.
